Atlanta Eats: Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint Buckhead

This past Friday we were invited to attend the VIP preview party for Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint in Buckhead.  This casual Atlanta based pizza chain is similar to Chipotle, in that you choose your own ingredients and they assemble your pizza for you.

When we arrived, we grabbed a menu and let the kids look over the toppings available.  With three crusts (including gluten free!), six sauces, and over 45 toppings, there is literally something for everyone.   There are over 3 million combinations available!  Pies are available in sizes from a 6″ kids pizza up to a large that will feed 4 adults.  Check out the pizzas we chose below:

Tiffany: Herb pesto, mozzarella, feta, mushroom, black olive, and tomato

Kenneth: Southwest Baja (tomato-basil sauce, mozzarella and cheddar, sw spiced grilled chicken, black bean corn salsa, jalapeños, cilantro and sour cream)

Ryan: Tomato-basil sauce, mozzarella, bell peppers, red onion, spinach, and black olive

Angel: Garlic and olive oil sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, black olive, and bacon

Nautica: Tomato-basil sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, and black olive

Nathan: Tomato-basil sauce, mozzarella, spicy sausage, pepperoni and ham

Eva: Tomato-basil sauce, mozzarella and black olive

Nikoletta: Buttermilk ranch, mozzarella, and mandarin orange (crazy, right?!)

Not only do they offer pizza, there is also a wide variety of paninis and salads to choose from.  We opted for the Greek salad, which was delicious!

Once you are done with your dinner, there are several tasty desserts to choose from.  We sampled the M&M blondie, cannoli, and Coca-cola cake.  The kids had a blast trading dessert bites, and gobbled up every single bite!

If you haven’t heard of this wonderful joint before now, Uncle Maddio’s is a franchise chain that was started right here in Atlanta.  They currently have 6 Atlanta locations with plans to open 10+ stores in the southeast by the end of the year.  With personal pan pizza combos for kids for only $3.49, and adults combos starting at only $6.99, this local joint is a winner for even the smallest budget.  They even offer a free art camp for kids each Saturday!  One of my favorite things about their pizza is that the crust is thin enough to really allow the flavor of the toppings to come through, without being too crunchy.

The grand opening celebration continues through this weekend, with free 9″ pizza coupons available through their Facebook page.  They even have a special prize for the first 100 guests through the door tomorrow morning: a year’s worth of free pizza!  It really is a wonderful, budget friendly place to take the kids for a casual evening out!

Do you like to take your kids out for pizza?  Have you ever visited any of the other Uncle Maddio’s locations?
